Where have you been all these years?

It's been quite a period of time since my last post. I owe to two things: no internet, and nothing exciting happening. But guess what! THINGS ARE HAPPENING NOW.

I went back to work at the dining center on campus. I walk in on the first day, unsure of how to go about telling everyone I have a different name. Entering my managers office, I say "I'm about to make your day way more exciting" and just out myself. No questions asked, I can totally put Alek on my nametag, and no one gives a shit! So I spent that day explaining to several people, and everyone is all hunky dory! The best part is to hear about people correcting OTHER people when I'm NOT there. Looooooove it. Today I also came out to the professor in the lab I work in. Literal conversation:

Me: So, I go by a different name now. I go by Alek.

Prof: Alright

Me: And I prefer masculine pronouns over feminine.

Prof: Ok. Should I tell the people upstairs in the office? And the grad students?

Me: UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM Yes that would be wonderful.

I COULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED IT GOING ANY BETTER. She was totally cool with it. It feels awesome to be telling the last few people about this change. I mean, I'm seriously almost to the point where everyone knows. Honestly, this feeling is absolutely amazing. I feel like myself so much more than I ever did before. Amanda is fading away, and exponentially everyday. Alek is taking the reins and kicking fucking ass at it.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO due to failing at having internet at my new place and the fact that most of my homework is online and the fact that I'm using the internet at a coffee place that closes in half an hour, I must stop blabbering away now. SOON HOWEVER. I will update again. And will make it ten times more exciting when the circles under my eyes aren't down to my fucking chin.
